People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is mostly known for sexualizing women and hypocritically murdering nearly 100% of healthy animals in their care annually (link). Well, the organization is now working on a pornography website.

The future site that “draws attention to the plight of animals” will be located at peta.xxx, according to PETA spokeswoman Lindsay Rajt. The .xxx domain is not yet secured, but trademark holders can begin to pay money to protect their brands starting September 7th.

I’m no animal freak; I hunt, I fish, but please do not support PETA or the Humane Society of the United States, as both organizations are incredibly misleading. The best alternative is to support local rescue shelters that actually care for animals, and always research them, rather than blindly supporting. Here are 55 other reasons to hate PETA.

I get asked about this a lot, so rather than explaining it to everyone, I’ll just link them to this post. Much easier! Note: I will also be linking my sources to each of these points in the near future.

1. PETA writes disrespectful letters to Ben & Jerry’s saying they should only use human breast milk in their ice cream. Source.
2. PETA believes it is ethical for them to murder animals, but it is unethical for anybody else to.
3. PETA has killed more than 30,000 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens since 1998, according to government documents. Source.
4. PETA says, “our country’s meat addiction is wrecking the earth.” Source.

15. PETA is against protecting animals and keeping them as pets. They say it would be better for animals if we would have never started keeping them as pets and the desire to own and receive love from animals is selfish, and that purchase of tem can cause immeasurable suffering. Source.
16. PETA murdered 2,301 animals (97.3% of the animals taken in) throughout the year 2009. Source.
17. PETA rescues only less than 10 animals each year. Source.
18. PETA is against life-saving medical research. Source.
19. PETA celebrity spokespersons don’t practice what they preach.

24. PETA paid $45,200 to the MSU arsonist, who also happens to be a member of terrorist group ALF, and spent 5 years in prison. Source. They also paid his father $25,000. Source.
25. PETA sends convicted criminals into schools to support arson.
26. PETA has compared Jewish victims of the Holocaust to farm animals. Source.
27. PETA supports terrorist groups who are responsible for dozens of firebombs and death threats. Source.

30. PETA claims it engages in outrageous media-seeking stunts “for the animals.” But which animals? The corpses they’re throwing in dumpsters? Killing puppies and kittens isn’t ethical, it’s hypocritical with a death toll that PETA would protest if it weren’t their own doing.
31. PETA has collected almost $24 million in donations in 2004 alone, but few donors understand where their money is going.

42. PETA paid the terrorist group ELF to firebomb a ski resort, $12 million in damages. Source.

44. PETA has spent 4 times as much money on criminals and their legal defense than on shelters, spray-neuter programs and other efforts that help animals.
45. PETA defends the killing of perfectly healthy animals.
