Justin Timberlake’s Music Campaign

No, I don’t mean he’s in it; he’s the target market. And Justin did see it, he even tweeted it. It’s a campaign made by his fans, with the goal of talking him into making new music. Late last year, I had reported that Justin is unable to do two things at the same time, however, he sings on a daily basis.

Always Sunny Hallmark Promos

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” is one of the greatest shows online. I say online, because, what the fuck is a TV? The show’s characters are shallow, cruel, self-obsessed, stupid drunks - which is probably why I find it so enjoyable.

And the Hallmark theme of these new promos make it better. They’re all shot in a warm autumnal glow and have a sensitive voiceover about heartwarming self-discovery.

Here are more from the promo series: Me, Wings, Leaves, The Gift Of Giving

Morgan Spurlock Supersizes Advertising

POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold

We’ve all seen those collector’s cups and kids-meal toys in fast food restaurants covered with images from major movies, but why aren’t marketing tie-ins ever promoting a documentary? How about a documentary about making the documentary?

In POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, filmmaker Morgan Spurlock (Where In The World Is Osama Bin Laden?, Super Size Me) tries to create a $1.5 million documentary paid for only by advertising. However, it in no way has enough depth to be considered informational about the business of  advertising, marketing, sponsorship, and product placement.

The title alone tells you he succeeded. The pomegranate juice POM Wonderful isn’t only mentioned in the title, but also in two actual and humorous commercials for the product in the movie. And Spurlock is often shown drinking he product (when he reaches into a cooler to grab a bottle, logos of all other drinks are blurred)

The Pennsylvania city of Altoona has even agreed to change its name to “POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold” for 60 days to promote the film.
